Precision Toolmaker Microscopy for Dimensional Inspection
The INSIZE ISD-VMM Series Toolmaker Microscopes are precision optical measuring systems designed for inspection and dimensional measurement of tools, dies, molds, machined components, and other precision parts.
The binocular configuration provides a comfortable optical viewing platform while the precision X/Y/Z mechanical system allows operators to inspect and measure features such as lengths, diameters, angles, radii, thread geometry, slots, holes, coordinates, and profiles.
With X/Y/Z resolution of 0.5 µm, X/Y accuracy of ≤(3.5 + L/100) µm, and repeatability of 2 µm, the ISD-VMM Series is suited for demanding dimensional inspection and toolmaking applications where conventional optical inspection equipment may not provide sufficient measurement capability.
The series is available in four binocular configurations, with X/Y travel ranging from 150 × 100 mm to 300 × 200 mm.
Key Features
Precision X/Y/Z Measurement
The ISD-VMM Series uses a precision mechanical positioning system with 0.5 µm resolution across the X, Y, and Z axes. This provides fine positioning control when locating and measuring small features.
X/Y accuracy is specified at:
≤(3.5 + L/100) µm
where L is the measuring length in millimeters.
Binocular Optical Viewing
The binocular optical configuration provides direct stereoscopic viewing of the workpiece while allowing the operator to position the measuring stage precisely.
The standard optical configuration uses a 3X objective, providing 30X optical magnification.
Precision Measuring Stage
The precision stage provides controlled X/Y movement for locating measurement features and inspecting larger workpieces.
